  8. This diskette contains the Windows 3.1 drivers version 2.04.  These
  9. drivers correct most of the outstanding Windows 3.1 driver issues.

  12. Manual Installation Procedures
  13. ______________________________
  14.  
  15. The four .EXE files contain all the driver files.  
  16.  
  17. SHARED.EXE     contains file compatible with both 3.0 and 3.1 releases.
  18. WIN30DRV.EXE   contains Windows 3.0 specific files.  
  19. WIN31DRV.EXE   contains Windows 3.1 specific files.
  20. WININST.EXE    contains Windows Install files.

  23.      Windows 3.0:
  24.      ------------
  25.      1. This example will use C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV as the destination directory
  26.         for the drivers.  The Install application WILL NOT run properly
  27.         unless the Windows drivers are located in the <Path>\WIN30DRV
  28.         sub-directory.
  29.  
  30.      2. Create the new directory if it does not already exist. 
  31.         (Example:       MD C:\SS24X <Enter>)
  32.                         MD C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV <Enter>)
  33.  
  34.      3. Extract the WIN30DRV.EXE file to the new directory.
  35.         (Example:  A:WIN30DRV.EXE C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV <Enter>)

  37.      4. Extract the SHARED.EXE file to the new directory.
  38.         (Example:  A:SHARED.EXE C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV <Enter>)

  40.      5. Extract the WININST.EXE file to the parent directory.
  41.         (Example:  A:WININST.EXE C:\SS24X <Enter>)

  43.      6. Verify operation of your Windows 3.0 installation in standard VGA
  44.         mode (640x480x16) before continuing installation.

  46.      7. From the Windows Program Manager, choose:
  47.      
  48.         File
  49.         Run
  50.         C:\SS24X\INSTALL <Enter>
  51.        
  52.      8. This will start the SpeedStar 24X INSTALL application and allow
  53.         you to select the desired resolution and colors.
  54.  
  55.      9. If you the INSTALL program cannot find the desired driver, or if 
  56.         you choose to INSTALL NEW, the INSTALL program will prompt you to
  57.         enter the path where the Windows 3.0 drivers for your SpeedStar 24X
  58.         can be found. At this prompt type:

  60.         C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV
  61.  
  62.      10. The DIAMOND icon will be copied to a DIAMOND group in Windows.

  65.      Windows 3.1:
  66.      ------------
  67.      1. This example will use C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV as the destination directory
